Life is very busy at the moment, what with university deadlines and the (rapidly) approaching festive season. Next weekend I will be displaying a couple of my mixed-media artworks as part of my grandmother’s exhibition of paintings at the Stephen’s House Frost Fair 2015. It’s going to be a lovely family event, with local crafts and gifts on sale, as well as a delicious Sunday roast dinner. And the admission is free!
For my little pieces, I’ve chosen the theme ‘Faded Glamour’, based on the Christmas pantomime tradition. I found some beautiful velvet and lace fabrics in my local charity shop, which I’ve cut into pieces and sewn onto the paper itself. I’ll post some photos of the finished pieces next week, but if you’re in London and you’d like to check out the exhibition, come say hi! I’m a friendly person (I hope).
The event is on Sunday 15th November, from 11:30am – 4:30pm. The nearest Tube stop to Stephen’s House (N3 3QE) is Finchley Central.
