Yoyogi-koen is a great place to visit on a Sunday. Everyone is there to have simple, clean fun. From the dogs: big and small, chasing each other around the doggy compound to the Elvises and didgereedooers, everyone is either a spectator or a performer – and the best thing – no money is involved.
This weekend we take some friends who are visiting from the UK. They – particularly the pair of teenagers- love it. Favourites are the huskies dressed up in Halloween costumes and the football playing border collie.
Having spent a good hour wandering around the park, we chance upon the regular Earth Market just as the sun is setting. My turn to get excited! The place is packed with organic cottons, hemp wool, wonderful handmade crafts, jewellery and brightly coloured textiles and clothes. There are opportunities to have a go at using a weaving loom or make models out of papier mache. I just love the vibrant colours, creativity and wonderful natural materials.
Tomorrow I will be posting some of the lovely photos I took. Come back and have a wander around the Earth Market with me!
